year of the monkey

The year of the monkey, also called the Year of the Three Animals, is a very special Chinese year. The Monkey is actually the third of the twelve-year cycle of celestial animals that appear in the Chinese lunar calendar along with the dragon and the snake. The Chinese name for this animal is Bamboo. The year of the monkey falls on the beginning of winter in China.

The Chinese year of the monkey also known as the Year of the Three Animals symbolizes the start of spring. The tenth of this cycle is the time when spring equinoxes with the full moon, and the eleventh represent the beginning of summer. If you are born on the Chinese New Year, this is your first full moon of the year. The Chinese name for this month is again Bamboo, which can also mean the small bamboo plant. Some people have suggested that the name was influenced by the story of the Monkey, the king of monkeys.

The dragon is another of the Chinese new year animals and the tenth in the cycle of celestial animals that appear in the Chinese lunar calendar. The Chinese name for the dragon is Niu Lang Lo. The twelfth part of the Chinese lunar calendar, the dragon holds great significance as it represents good fortune. The dragon makes up half of the character in the word Ma Jiao, which literally means "the dragon and star."

Chinese New Year - The Year of the Monkey

The monkey is also included in the Chinese lunar calendar as the third animal of the fiftieth month, which falls between the full moon of January and the new moon of February. This is also the twelfth part of the Chinese lunar calendar. The Chinese name of this animal is Jia Lan Mui, which literally means "the monkey that jumps over the moon." February is the month when the monkey, accompanied by the swan and crane, flies across the sky to celebrate the new growth and the coming of spring.

January is when the first Chinese New Year gaolers are born. These are the smallest monkeys in all of Asia. They are also celebrating the first day of a new year without eating anything else but fruit. Throughout the country, especially in China's northeast, people rush to the banks of the Huangpu River to pull out these sleepy monkeys as they come forth from their long slumber.

The Monkey is also born on the first day of the New Year as well. Chinese astrology considers this special day to be a very auspicious one for both parents and child. The monkey in Chinese culture signifies good health, and the Chinese character for Monkey means "bitter medicine" or "poison antidote." The Chinese character for monkey also means "one who is quick-witted and inquisitive." The lucky person born on this day is able to use the five elements of nature to help him with his studies and experiments.

In Chinese astrology, the Monkey will be a lucky animal for the people born in the New Year. People born on this day have a bright future ahead of them. A monkey who can make things happen in his path is someone who will have many chances of finding success. It is believed that only a lucky being will be able to use the Chinese lunar calendar, which has a different meaning in Chinese astrology than does the traditional western calendar.

For people living in China, a lucky monkey would be the one who can defeat the American President elects. For the lucky ones, perhaps, there will be a vision of them with a banana tree, eating bananas. Maybe, they will see monkeys climbing up the skyscrapers, then dropping them into the water below. Perhaps, they will see people eating fruits hanging from trees, which are called "fruits of wealth." These are some of the possibilities, but there will be more, as mentioned, for those lucky enough to watch the Monkey with an eye to attaining great success in their life endeavors. Chinese people will see monkeys on the internet, on television, or they will read about them, and some will be lucky enough to attend a Monkey festival in China, which is also a yearly event.
